Conversations with USH: Brenden Sorensen

On January 10, 2024, the Usher Syndrome Society hosted our second Conversations with USH event. This special evening featured Brenden Sorensen, a talented composer and pianist living with Usher syndrome, who shared his story through powerful piano performances and a heartfelt conversation with Rebecca Alexander, who is also living with Usher syndrome.

Held at Brenden’s alma mater, Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, the event was titled Through the Fog, named after one of Brenden’s original compositions that reflects his journey with vision and hearing loss.

Thank you to the Grand Canyon University College of Arts and Media (CAM) for helping make this inspiring event possible.

Composer, pianist and GCU alum Brenden Sorensen, who lives with Usher Syndrome, talks about the genetic disability with Rebecca Alexander, who also has Ushers, during his “Through the Fog” performance at Sunset Auditorium on Jan. 10, 2024.
