Sight, Sound, Strength PKL
On November 30, 2022 the Usher Syndrome Society hosted our annual experiential Sight, Sound, and Strength fundraiser at PKL in Boston.
PKL is one of Boston’s hottest new venues, with 4 premium indoor pickleball courts, shuffleboard, and cornhole. The Usher Syndrome Society made the most of this dynamic space by offering attendees the opportunity to play any of these games wearing a tunnel vision blindfold!
In addition to these activities, the event was infused with delicious snacks, an open bar, and a wonderful environment to connect with friends and collegues. We also took some time to share the incredible work we are doing to fund research for Usher syndrome and our Scientific Advisory Board Chair, Jeffrey Holt, took the stage to share the latest updates. We also heard from keynote speaker, disability rights advocate, psychotherapist, and extreme athlete, Rebecca Alexander, who talked about some of her experiences living with Usher syndrome.

Together, we raised over $120,000, which will go directly to research for Usher syndrome! Every dollar makes a difference and brings us one step closer to finding treatments and a cure for this rare disease. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors who made this event possible!
